Done with the Road Less Traveled, now I'm reading this book Becoming A Person of Influence by John C Maxwell.
.
Just share some of the inspiring quotes from the book.
.
Many succeed momentarily by what they know;
Some succeed temporarily by what they do; but
Few succeed permanently by what they are
.
Encouragement
An experiment was conducted years ago to measure people's capacity to endure pain. Psychologists measured how long a barefooted person could stand in a bucket of ice water. They found out that one factor made it possible for some people to stand in the ice water twice as long as others. Can you guess what that factor was? It was encouragement. When another person was present, giving support and encouragement, the sufferers were able to endure the pain much longer than their unencouraged counterparts.
.
When a person feels encouraged, he can face the impossible and overcome incredible adversity.
.
Hope
Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
.
How you treat people lies in how you think about them.
.
Treat a man as he appears to be and you make him worse. But treat a man as if he already were what he potentially could be, and you make him what he should be.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
.
There is a boy named Tommy who had a particularly hard time in school. He continually asked questions, and he never could quite keep up. It seemed that he failed every time he tried something. His teacher finally gave up on him and told his mother that he could not learn and would never amount to much. But Tommy's mother was a nurturer. She believed in him. She taught him at home, each time he failed. she gave him hope and encouraged him to keep trying.
.
What ever happened to Tommy? He became an inventor, eventually holding more than one thousand patents, including those of the phonograph and the first commercially practical incandescent electric lightbulb. His name is Thomas Edison. When people have hope, there is no telling how far they can go.
.
Visualize Their Future Success
We have heard about an experiment performed with laboratory rats to measure their motivation to live under different circumstances. Scientists dropped a rat into a jar of water that had been placed in total darkness, and they timed how long the animal would continue swimming before it gave up and allowed itself to drown. They found that the rat usually lasted little more than three minutes.
.
Then they dropped another rat into the same kind of jar, but instead of placing in total darkness, they allowed a ray of light to shine into it. Under those circumstances, the rat kept swimming for thirty-six hours. That's more than seven hundred times longer than the one in the dark! Because the rat can see, it continued to have hope.

I have added a list of the books that I have read so far, on the left. I dun mean anything as to proclaim that I have read these much of books so I am..... No! I was want to share my knowledge to those who read my blog, esp those who are seeking self-development. Like what Robin Sharma like to say in his seminars I am not a guru and I definitely do not know all the answers.
.
Why read books, everyday.... I do not know the rational behind why but someone told me this:
If you eat 3 times a day, you'll be fat,
If you read 3 times a day, you'll be wise.
